History of Ray & Barney Group
Through years of experience with running their own successful IT consulting organization (NC Group), Rye
D’Orazio and Brad Ristas saw an unmet business need. The need was based on the premise that most
organizations considered the function of HR necessary, but not strategic. Furthermore, it became
clear that the function of IT in many organizations was in great need of business alignment. Once
these ideas were validated, they partnered with Chasity Kuttrus who worked with Rye and Brad at NC Group
and brought subject matter expertise and leadership in Talent Management and HR.
In 2001, this partnership culminated into the creation of Ray & Barney Group, a
company dedicated to transforming client HR and IT functions into strategic business units that
create business value and competitive advantage.
